COLONIAL ENTANGLEMENTS

In my series Colonial Entanglements, I wrap everyday objects (a chair, a globe, a book) using my phototextile artefacts and sisal rope to interrogate the enduring, often invisible, legacy of the European colonial project on our modern world.

MEMOIRS OF DARIEN

This is a phototextile artefact that I made in response to my artistic residency at Orleans House Gallery in London, and it tells the story of the Darien Scheme, the failed attempt by Scotland to colonise the Isthmus of Darien, in modern day Panama.

While creating this work, I went down a journey of discovering my identity, tracing back my migration journey and the journeys of my family and my ancestors.

MODE SIRENS & THE HIDDEN ENTITY

The presentation of Shane Bradford's collection of Mode Sirens, of my photography work entitled Migration and of the performative piece that Max and I created took place on May 7, 2022, in front of approximately 150 people.
